It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our beloved Aspen. She sees perfectly now... on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
This sweet girl battled a multitude of medical problems, including blindness, all caused by years of neglect and abuse. For several months she, and her new family, fought the odds, and, for a while, it worked. In the end, however, there was just too much damage done, and Aspen had to be releived of her suffering, from which there could be no relief.
In spite of all the bad that happened to her, at the hands of humans, she was still able to love people. Her adopters, Ron and Debbie Croft, gladly took on the burnden of an older dog with several major health problems, in an effort to make her remaining days happy ones. After years of abuse and neglect, Aspen finally had a loving family who began to teach her how to cope with her blindness and left no stone unturned in their efforts to make Aspen happy and comfortable.
We were proud to be a part of her final days by awarding her a Canine Good Citizen Award and a Therapy Dog Certification so she could do, if only for a short while, what dogs love to do... help people.
We will miss our K9 Buddy very much, but, she suffers no more. Her spirit lives on in all of God's wonderful creatures, including us.
